The town of Terrell harkens back to the good ole days where you’ll find the Terrell Country Store that houses a treasure trove of vintage and antique items for sale, as well as a lot of local historical items. Many residents of Terrell commute to Charlotte, either via I-77 on the east side of Lake Norman or via the equidistant NC 16 located on the west side of Lake Norman.

The town of Terrell was named after Pinckney Lawson Terrell (1853-1926), a Methodist preacher with ties to the nearby Methodist Church. At one time, the town of Terrell was the focal point of trade and commerce in the area. In fact, the Terrell Historic District is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The most prominent building within the historical district is the Terrell Country Store which was built in 1891.
